Your decision to have an abortion is a personal one. It may have been difficult for you to make this decision, or you may still be in the process of deciding. Any decision can be based on what's happening in your life now and what you want for yourself in the future. You are probably trying to do the best you can with what you’ve got right now. You have your reasons. These reasons may not be the same as someone else’s reasons, but they are yours and that is what counts.

In choosing to have an abortion, different feelings may come up for you; fear, grief, frustration, helplessness, relief. If possible talk about your feelings with someone you trust, someone who cares about you, who will not judge or criticize you. Cry if you need to. Be gentle with yourself. Give yourself time to know your feelings and accept them.

Appreciate yourself. You have made or are making, an important decision. You are taking control. With or without the support of others, you are going through the actual experience by yourself. You are attempting to do that with dignity. You are special. You deserve the best. Your decision is a moral, ethical and responsible one.

We will do all we can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We can assure you that you will be treated with compassion and respect. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions that may arise during your stay.

We hope that your journey here was not too tiring or troublesome, and that there were no pickets outside. If you have been harassed or intimidated by protesters you may be feeling extra vulnerable.

We have tried to schedule your time here to minimize any long waits. However, sometimes we run a little late. The waiting room is for you and any companions with you to use freely.

We acknowledge that the decision to have an abortion is frequently made by a woman herself or with her own support system, and that she may not require decision-making counseling. However, should the need arise, we have a counselor to provide counseling to assist you in making the choice to either continue or terminate your pregnancy, and you are welcome to discuss your birth control plans and any other issues with her.
